QPL Reference Manual

The questionnaire summary statistics report is a handy way to learn what is happening on your survey. It quickly summarizes the responses for each question into a single report that you can view on the web site after you log in as an administrator. Frequency statistics are automatically calculated for MULT, CHECK, and LDATE questions, descriptive statistics are calculated for NUMBER questions, and the responses to OPENEND and STRING questions are listed with the respondent's username.

The questions that will be summarized in the report are set when you build your web site project files.

By default, all of the non-test user account cases will be included in the report when you run it. The System Administrator can change this case "filter" on the Default Project Settings page. For example, the System Administrator could set the filter so that it only includes cases where the respondents indicated that they had completed the questionnaire.

This same report form is also used in several other situations.

Selecting Questions for the Report

There are several command line options you can use to control what questions are included in the tabulation report. You can include or exclude types of questions, or individual questions. These options are specified when you build your web site files using the "PHP" button in HomeSite (build web server php files) or on the command line if you are using the Console version of QPL6 with the /php option. If you are using the QPL6 Firefox Add-In, the report is created when you build the live web site files (Tools > QPL6 > Build... > Live web site files).

Sharing the Tabulation Report

There are a several ways that you can share a tabulation report with people who do not have an administrative account to view it in real-time on your web server.
